An OpenAI researcher started a company to build AI drug discovery, and the valuation discussed reached $2 billion

According to Beating Insight monitoring, TechCrunch cites insiders as saying that OpenAI researcher Miles Wang will depart to start a company. He previously worked at OpenAI on researching how AI can accelerate scientific and biological discoveries. The new team plans to develop AI models for drug discovery, and multiple OpenAI researchers may join. The team is currently in talks for about $200 million in financing, with a valuation of about $2 billion. Lightspeed may lead the investment. The project may also look for new uses for existing drugs and drugs that failed in clinical trials.
