According to Beating monitoring, TechCrunch, citing insiders, reports that OpenAI researcher Miles Wang will leave to start a company. He previously worked at OpenAI on how AI can accelerate scientific and biological discoveries. The new team plans to develop AI models for drug discovery, and multiple OpenAI researchers may join.

The team is currently in talks to raise about $200 million, with a valuation of about $2 billion. Lightspeed may lead the investment. The project may seek new uses for old drugs and clinically failed drugs.
