SI $FULAN — WATER FLOWS ON
Boss, after finding a spring behind the hill, the village became fertile again. The rice paddies turned green, the wells were filled, and the villagers’ smiles blossomed once more. However, Bayu felt that one thing needed to be protected: the water had to keep flowing for everyone.
WATER DOESN’T BELONG TO ONE PERSON
Some villagers began to argue over the distribution of water. Some took more than they should, while others wanted to divert the flow to their own fields. Bayu saw the dispute and remembered Mbah Joyo’s teachings:
“Water belongs to all living beings. Not only for one person, not only for one family.”
Bayu gathered the villagers and said:
“We found this water together. So we must protect it together. Not to be fought over, but to be shared fairly.”
JOKO AND A SMALL MESSAGE
Joko, who heard the dispute, approached Bayu.
“Grandpa, I have a small idea. What if every family takes turns guarding the spring? One week for one family, then we switch. That way, everyone will feel the same sense of responsibility.
Bayu smiled when he heard Joko’s suggestion.
“That’s a wise idea, son. Sometimes small things like that can solve big problems.”
The villagers agreed with Joko’s proposal. They made a rotation schedule and promised to remind one another. Since then, there have been no more disputes over water.
MESSAGE
“Water doesn’t belong to one person, but to all living beings.
“Shared responsibility is the key to maintaining blessings.
“Sometimes, a small idea from a child can solve a big problem.
