Robin Li wrote in People’s Daily: Don’t just compare how many tokens were burned—look at how much work the agent actually did

According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, Baidu founder Robin Li published an article in People’s Daily, proposing to measure the intelligent economy using “daily active agent number” (DAA).

DAA counts how many Agents complete tasks each day and deliver results. Robin Li compares Tokens to AI’s “electricity bill,” while DAA is the “report card.”

He criticized the industry for blindly chasing model scale and Token consumption. AI can’t just game rankings in labs; it also needs to move into real-world scenarios such as factories, healthcare, and logistics to create tangible value.
