The Ministry of Water Resources continued to issue a yellow flood warning on July 15. Affected by heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon No. 9 “Bavi,” there are still 41 rivers in the Songhua River–Liao River basin currently running above warning levels, including 12 rivers such as the Huifa River, Gayi River, and Mudanjiang River that are above the reservoir-water level. Over the next 3 days, areas including Huanghuai, southern North China, most of South China, the central and northern parts of Sichuan, and the central-eastern parts of Shaanxi will see heavy to torrential rain, with some areas experiencing torrential rain. Due to inflow from upstream and impacts from the rainfall, major rivers in the Songhua River–Liao River basin—such as the upstream reaches of the Songhua River in Jilin, Mudanjiang River, and the Hun River and Taizi River—will remain above warning levels. Major rivers including the Zhangwei River in the Haihe River basin; the main course and tributaries of the Yellow River in its middle and lower reaches—such as the Fenhe River, Qinhe River, and Daqing River; the Yishushisu system in the Huaihe River basin; the Minjiang River and Tuojiang River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River; and the Liuzhou River tributary of the Xijiang in the Pearl River basin—will experience rising water levels. Among them, the Mudanjiang River, a tributary of the Songhua River, may see numbered flooding; some small and medium-sized rivers within the torrential-rainfall areas may also experience floods above warning levels.
