🤯 The World's 2 Most Critical Oil Chokepoints Are Now at Risk.

(Hormuz & Bab al-Mandeb are the world's two most critical energy chokepoints.)
Strait of Hormuz is already under tension.
20% of global oil passes through it and is being disrupted by the US-Iran war.
Bab al-Mandeb is now under threat.
5% of global oil and 12–14% of container trade pass through this route.
Trigger:
The Saudi Arabia–Yemen (Houthi) conflict escalated after the Sanaa Airport attack, ending a 4-year truce.
Yemen's Warning:
"If Saudi aggression continues, both Bab al-Mandeb and Hormuz will be closed."
Result:
Oil could hit $200/barrel.
If both straits are disrupted:
↳ 22–25% of global oil transit affected.
↳ 30% of container shipping rerouted.
↳ Ships forced around the Cape of Good Hope.
↳ 10–14 extra days for deliveries.
↳ $10B/day trade at risk.
Biggest Irony:
Saudi Arabia shifted exports to the Red Sea to avoid Hormuz.
Now that route is also under Yemen's control.
Iran & Yemen now hold leverage over both chokepoints.
