A South Korean asset management company discussed raising the initial investment amount for leveraged stock ETFs to $6,714. On July 15, according to the Korea Financial Investment Association, the CEOs of 10 major asset management firms discussed investor protection measures for leveraged individual stock ETFs, including raising the minimum margin requirement from 10 million won ($6,714), and staggering the timing of rebalancing trades. The association said that attendees agreed to raise the minimum margin threshold, citing data from the Korea Capital Market Research Institute: since the launch of leveraged ETFs, the daily rebalancing stock trading volume is expected to be 70 billion to 210 billion won.
