BlockBeats message, July 15, according to BFM News: the government of Malaysia’s Johor state has asked the federal government to investigate Network School, founded by former Coinbase Chief Technology Officer Balaji Srinivasan, due to allegations that some Israeli citizens are using third-country passports to take part in the project.

The Johor state government has asked the Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant law-enforcement, security agencies to verify the individuals’ identities, nationalities, and entry purposes, and to investigate whether Network School’s operations require registration with or approval from Malaysia’s laws. The authorities will also review whether the project complies with related regulations, such as venue licensing, building use, land use, accommodation operations, and commercial activities; if any illegal conduct is found, action will be taken according to the law.

As it is understood, Network School is located in Malaysia’s Forest City and was founded by Balaji Srinivasan. It is a private residential community built around his “Network State”理念, with membership fees starting from $1,500 per month, offering services such as accommodation, dining, fitness, and shared office spaces.
