Iranian local government: Fighting breaks out in the Strait of Hormuz

Golden Finance reported that on July 15, Iranian Mehr News Agency said in an early-morning report on July 15, citing a report from the Hormozgan Province government in Iran, that fighting broke out in the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were heard from coastal counties in the province, in the port of Bandar Abbas, and on islands located in the Persian Gulf. Earlier the same day, Mehr News Agency also reported that multiple explosions were heard in Sirik County of Hormozgan Province, which may be related to clashes in nearby waters. Sirik is located at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. (Xinhua)
