Multiple Senate Democrats publicly oppose the 《Clarity Act》, calling it a "corrupt bill"

Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 15, according to CoinDesk, U.S. Senators Chris Murphy, Chris Van Hollen, and Jeff Merkley held a press conference on July 14 at Capitol Hill, where they publicly announced their opposition to the crypto market structure bill, the Digital Assets Market Clarity Act (Clarity Act), and described it as “corrupt legislation.”

The main focus of the three senators’ opposition is that the bill still does not include ethical provisions that ban personal involvement by the president and senior government officials in the crypto industry. Van Hollen said bluntly that the bill would “cause immense harm.” Murphy used even stronger wording, saying that if the bill cannot sever the entanglement of interests between the Trump family and the crypto industry, “then it is itself a protection racket for corruption.”
