Golden Finance reports that on July 15, OpenAI is developing a screenless, mobile smart speaker. As an AI companion device with human-like traits, it can integrate to control smart home appliances while deeply leveraging the full capabilities of ChatGPT. The device’s core design feature is that, as it gains a deeper understanding of the user’s usage habits, it continuously completes personalized iterations and proactively provides services. Its most core highlight is that it has a dedicated personality trait, enabling it to form a human-like emotional connection with the user. OpenAI plans to officially release the product this year, with market sales starting in 2027, though the project may be delayed due to a lawsuit filed by Apple. Apple accuses OpenAI of stealing its commercial secrets, in order to speed up the development of its own hardware devices.
