According to Beating monitoring, a Google Gemini team member, Logan Kilpatrick, posted today: “In the AI era, every roughly 3 months, you need to move your ambitions up a level; otherwise, the model’s suddenly added capabilities will be taken first by competitors.” The comments section quickly linked this remark to the Gemini 3.5 Pro that has been long awaited.

Gemini 3.5 Pro was originally scheduled to be released in June, but it has already been delayed. Earlier reports had suggested that Gemini 3.5 Pro would be released on July 17.

From Gemini 3 Pro to Gemini 3.1 Pro is about 3 months; from Gemini 3.1 Pro to Gemini 3.5 Flash is also about 3 months. With this pace, the next model release is likely to land in mid-to-late August.
