According to Reuters, Malaysia’s Ministry of Home Affairs has launched an investigation into Network School, a digital nomad community founded by former Coinbase chief technology officer Balaji Srinivasan. The community is alleged to have hosted Israeli citizens who entered using passports from other countries, and the relevant authorities will verify the identities and nationalities of those involved, the validity of their travel documents, and their purpose of entry.

Malaysia bans the entry of people holding Israeli passports, but it does not have any legal prohibition on dual nationals entering while holding non-Israeli passports. Network School was founded in 2024 and is reportedly based in Forest City in Johor, Malaysia. The Johor state government will also reexamine whether the community complies with local regulations regarding its business license, building usage, and business activities.
