Raising $7.5 million, @KorProtocol is worth taking a close look at recently—an creative IP project built on the Base ecosystem.
This Series A is led by 1kx and Blockchain Capital, with support from Animoca Brands, Republic Crypto, Solana Foundation, Avalanche, SevenX, and others behind the scenes.
What exactly is KOR doing?
In plain language: an “on-chain clearinghouse” that serves creative assets like music, video, and art.
Previously, when creators sold copyrights, they had to prove who the work belonged to, find buyers, negotiate licensing, and calculate revenue splits—the whole process was slow and opaque.
After AI came along, the problem became even worse: content can be generated in bulk, but who does it actually belong to? Can it be used commercially? And how should the money be divided?
@KorProtocol is here to solve these issues.
It mainly does three things:
1️⃣ Verify
Record the source, ownership, and licensing terms of works on-chain, giving every creative IP a verifiable “digital identity.”
2️⃣ Route
Using AI and data, match creators’ assets like music and video to labels, brands, platforms, and agencies with demand.
3️⃣ Settle
After transactions are completed, settle automatically via smart contracts and USDC, and distribute revenue to the original author, Remix creators, and other participants according to the rules.
So KOR’s business logic is actually not complicated:
On one side, it matches creators with copyright assets; on the other, it matches brands, labels, and platforms that need to buy music, video, and IP licenses.
The project earns revenue through IP licensing transactions, creator tools, platform services, and settlement services.
Products like KORUS, KOR Hubs, and Pacer are already running: users can create Remixes, use licensed music materials, and creators can also upload works, sell Stem Packs, or open up IP licensing.
KOR already has 1 million+ registered users, 1,000+ IP partner collaborations, and over $2 million in revenue—it’s not just in the storytelling stage.
If you haven’t joined yet, you can go try KORUS, complete KOR Quests, accumulate KOR Score, or directly use the creation and Remix products in the ecosystem.
Creators who already have monetization needs for music, video, or art copyrights are especially recommended to use it in practice.
This might also be the last phase to interact with the KOR ecosystem—TGE may not be far off.
