BlockBeats message, July 14: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it has launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. Air Force base located in Jordan, and called on the public in Jordan to resist the U.S. forces stationed there. The Jordanian side stated that its air defense system successfully intercepted 4 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace, and the incident resulted in no casualties or property damage.

In response, with President Trump’s authorization, the U.S. Central Command carried out consecutive airstrikes against targets inside Iran for about 5 hours. This is the third consecutive night that the U.S. military has launched large-scale strikes against Iran. According to Iranian media reports, multiple targets were hit, including ports such as Bandar Abbas, and some naval maintenance facilities were damaged.

Meanwhile, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz remain high. Trump has recently proposed that the U.S. will be responsible for maintaining security in the Strait of Hormuz, and plans to charge a 20% fee for transit cargo, which has drawn widespread controversy from the international community. Affected by the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, international oil prices at one point rose by nearly 3%, as the market worries that shipping risks through the strait will further aggravate global energy supply tightness.
