White House Chief Crypto Adviser Patrick Witt is taking leave and stepping down, which may affect the progress of negotiations on the Clarity bill.

Odaily Planet Daily News: White House Chief Crypto Advisor Patrick Witt will begin a multi-month leave later this month and travel to the Georgia Army National Guard to receive training for the JAG program. Witt originally planned to take part in the program in April, but it was postponed due to delays in negotiations over the Clarity Act, and he was unable to postpone it again this time. Since taking the role in August of last year, Witt has led negotiations with legislators and industry stakeholders over the core controversies surrounding the bill, including brokering a compromise between the crypto industry and banks on stablecoin yield, handling disputes over ethical provisions, and winning support from law enforcement organizations. Deputy Harry Jung will take over his responsibilities.
