$SK Hynix Foreign investors net sold South Korean stocks for the fifth consecutive month

Jin10 Data, July 14 — Data released by the Bank of Korea on Tuesday showed that despite South Korea’s stock market rising, driven by technology stocks, foreign investors continued to net sell South Korean stocks in June for the fifth consecutive month. According to Bank of Korea data, after net selling $26.15B worth of South Korean stocks in May, overseas investors net sold a total of $30.72B in South Korean stocks and bonds in June. Since February, foreign investors have maintained a net-selling stance. The Bank of Korea said that concerns in the market about overheating investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure weakened investor sentiment, leading to a further expansion in the scale of foreign investors’ net selling compared with the previous month. The bank added that as South Korea’s stock market rose, foreign investors reduced their stock holdings during portfolio rebalancing, further accelerating net capital outflows.
