Mars Finance news. According to official announcements, on-chain token distribution protocol Sablier Labs has announced it will stop active product development and enter maintenance mode until June 2028. Existing user services are not affected. The smart contracts will run on-chain permanently, and the interface will ultimately become an open-source public product. Founder Paul Razvan Berg said that in Q1 2026 usage and revenue dropped significantly, mainly because a worsening crypto market led customers to postpone launches. AI-assisted coding greatly reduced the cost of copying the Sablier product. The team tried directions such as locked staking NFT and customized Rollup, but they were not successful. The company believes there is no standalone business opportunity in the on-chain token distribution space at venture-capital scale. Sablier has transitioned its core smart contracts from the BUSL license to the GPL in advance, enabling full open-sourcing.
