Mars Finance News, July 13, according to AXIOS, Trump announced on Monday that the United States is restarting a maritime blockade against Iran and will prevent any ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports. He also claimed that the United States will charge a “20% fee” to ensure cargo vessels can safely transit, but the details and seriousness of the proposal are not yet clear. Due to legal requirements to provide shipowners with 24 hours’ notice in advance, the newly restarted maritime blockade has not yet taken effect. A U.S. official said that U.S. Central Command will release specific timing later on Monday night.
