A few days ago, after $CL surged, the most common mistake is chasing the order. Actually, I already had a long position around 70.08. When I saw it come up to 78.54, my unrealized P&L turned to +1120.31%. My first reaction wasn’t to add, but to pause and take it easy first.

This kind of level looks exciting, but if I were to keep pushing it higher, I’d actually be even more cautious. Stay in crypto long enough and you’ll know: when you’re in profit, people are most likely to get inflated, feel like whatever they do is right, and then end up chasing—right at the point where others want to get off.

The reason I can hold this trade is mainly because the initial entry was relatively comfortable, not something that was squeezed onto the train after the pump. In short-term futures, the biggest fear is messing up the rhythm—once it gets off, it’s easy to go from taking meat to carrying the sedan.

So later on, I won’t start chasing just because it’s up. If you already have profit, first protect your cost basis and your mindset; if you don’t have a comfortable entry, I’d rather make less, than send yourself in.
