🇺🇸🇮🇷BREAKING: Trump just confirmed the U.S. is reinstating its naval blockade of Iran, and adding a 20% toll on every ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

This isn't a new threat. It's the same thing he floated a few days ago in Ankara, now made official in a Truth Social post. He's calling the U.S. the "guardian" of the strait, says America guarded it for free for years and won't anymore, and says the toll process starts immediately.
Here's why the timing matters. This lands in the middle of active fighting, days after the U.S. hit Iran with a wave of strikes and Iran fired back at American installations in Bahrain and Kuwait. Iran has already said charging ships violates the ceasefire terms it signed back in June. That ceasefire is functionally dead at this point anyway, Trump declared it over earlier this week.
Oil prices jumped and stock indexes fell the moment this posted. A fifth of the world's oil still moves through that strait, and now the country controlling access to it is also billing for the privilege.
