On July 13, according to CoinDesk, the Bolivian government is evaluating whether to include Tether (USDT) in the national payment system, exploring the feasibility of allowing it to circulate in parallel with the Boliviano and the U.S. dollar. The related proposal is still in the technical review stage; no specific implementation rules have been released, and USDT has not been granted legal-tender status.



After Bolivia lifted restrictions on crypto-asset trading in mid-2024, crypto trading activity in the country has grown significantly. With a domestic shortage of U.S. dollars, demand from businesses and residents for alternative payment and remittance tools has increased, and the real-world application scenarios for stablecoins are expanding.
