Deep Tide TechFlow message. On July 13, Critini Research analyst Jukan said that his takeaway from this year’s International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) was that South Korea’s emphasis on artificial intelligence largely remains on the surface.



He believes that the market heat for South Korea’s AI startups and university research has been clearly overestimated, and that there is a significant gap in overall competitiveness compared with China. He suggested that South Korea learn from China’s talent recruitment pathways, roll out a mechanism similar to a “thousand-person program” to attract overseas ethnic Korean talent to return, and actively bring in top international AI talent; otherwise, South Korea may gradually become a country heavily dependent on AI technology.
