Anthropic is considering letting Fable 5 stay permanently in the subscription
According to Beating monitoring, the leak account Ali Haider said that Anthropic is discussing keeping Claude Fable 5 permanently in its paid subscriptions. The company worries that removing the model would trigger a large wave of user cancellations and faces competitive pressure from GPT-5.6 Sol and Grok 4.5.
Anthropic has extended Fable 5 subscription access again to July 19. The activity to synchronize an increase of Claude Code’s weekly quota by 50% has also been postponed. Users can still use up to 50% of their weekly quota for Fable 5.
Previously, Anthropic only promised that once compute capacity allows, Fable 5 would be restored as a standard subscription feature. There has not yet been an official announcement about permanently keeping it.
