BlockBeats message: On July 13, according to official announcements, after the recent launch of its financing transaction feature, BIT (formerly Matrixport) today announced the official launch of its US stock securities lending (short-selling) function, marking a key closed loop for BIT’s broker business to achieve a two-way US stock trading ecosystem for both long and short. It provides investors with tools to hedge risk and profit flexibly in a shifting market, and also lays sufficient infrastructure for the upcoming options trading.

Regarding this business upgrade, Elio Cui, head of BIT’s brokerage business, said: “After the securities lending function goes live, BIT becomes one of the very few trading platforms in the industry that supports financing, securities lending, and options positioning within a real US stock framework. From the outset, our product roadmap was built to match the complete traditional brokerage investment experience. Within the same account, users can seamlessly connect long and short positioning and risk hedging to navigate different market cycles with higher capital efficiency.”

After the feature goes live, users of BIT’s comprehensive account (margin account) that meets the initial margin requirements can short specific US stocks via securities lending. The platform will update key risk-control metrics in real time and dynamically, including margin ratios, stock lending fees, and securities lending pool quotas, to ensure trading transparency and efficiency.

As an important part of improving US stock brokerage services, BIT also reminds investors that securities lending transactions involve market risk and are affected by factors such as market volatility, borrowing costs, and interest rate fluctuations. The platform will dynamically adjust the list of stocks supported for short-selling based on market liquidity and risk-control policies, providing investors with qualified opportunities to short US stocks within a steady and safe framework.

In conjunction with the new business, BIT’s brokerage is offering a time-limited “0 fee rate” promotion. The promotion is subject to relevant terms and conditions; for details, please refer to BIT’s US stock channel.
