【Caixin Net】 Driven mainly by an improvement in demand, China’s manufacturing business climate for June 2026 picked up slightly. The divergence between new and traditional industries widened, and the business climate for small businesses still needs to improve.

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on June 30 showed that the manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for June recorded 50.3, up 0.3 percentage points from May. The non-manufacturing Business Activity Index also rose slightly by 0.1 percentage points to 50.2. Business climate in both major industries increased slightly, lifting the composite PMI output index by 0.1 percentage points to 50.6—the highest level this year—indicating that the pace of expansion in corporate production and operating activities has accelerated.
