This short position finally paid off. The drop from the high point in $RIF —after that, the chart was no longer a normal pullback; it was already showing loosening follow-through, with support coming in. A lot of people at the time were still waiting for a retracement to rebound and continue short, but what I was watching was the volume-backed drop after consecutive attempts to push higher that couldn’t hold.

After entering around 0.12683, the most important part wasn’t just how fast it fell, but that the rebounds kept getting weaker—key levels were being refreshed one after another. Once this kind of rhythm appears, it becomes very clear that the bears have initiative. Now the price is at 0.12576, unrealized position profit +16.61%, and the market’s room has been released quite decisively.

I’ve already handled it with an 80/20 plan: 80% take profit, and the remaining 20% stays on with a protective level, looking for further extension. Once the profits are out, don’t get greedy and let it spiral out of control—especially in this kind of sell-off, a sudden sharp bounce in the middle is totally normal.

If you didn’t get in, don’t chase. The more it drops, the more likely you are to want to short—only to have the rebound disrupt your timing. Wait for the next opportunity, and move only when the entry is at a more comfortable level.
