With a few thousand yuan in principal, can you really build something in the crypto world?
Let me tell you clearly: yes.
But not by luck, and not by going all-in.
I myself also grew it step by step from small capital. The real gap is never about the size of the principal—it’s about your trading approach.
Where do most people lose? One word: impatience.
They have only a few thousand in their account, yet they think about doubling every day. Chasing pumps, trying to catch bottoms, full positions, going all-in—then in the end the principal gets smaller and smaller, they don’t actually make profit, and they end up paying a ton of fees.
People who can truly grow small capital all understand one word: wait.
The market moves every day, but there aren’t many chances that are truly worth acting on. Catching one or two high-certainty setups in a month is far better than trading constantly.
Over the years, I’ve summed up a pattern: when big good news is released, it’s often when retail traders are the most excited. Before the news comes out, the capital has already positioned in advance. By the time everyone sees the headline and rushes in, many times they end up being the bag-holders.
My approach is simple: you can participate when the news is stimulating, but you must always control your position size. If you make money, take it and leave—don’t treat one lucky break as your ability. Before and after holidays and major news, I also try to reduce trading. Making a little less doesn’t matter. As long as the principal is still there, opportunities will always come back.
The biggest mistake beginners make is that they like to place all their bets at once.
The truly stable ones always do light-position trial-and-error: add only when they’re right about the trend, and cut losses in time when they’re wrong. Stop-loss is not failure—it preserves principal for the next chance. When it goes up, don’t get carried away. When it goes down, don’t panic. Don’t let winning get out of control, and don’t do random things when you lose.
First, survive. Only then does small capital have a chance to slowly grow bigger.
