Odaily Planet Daily News reported that the U.S. Central Command said in a post that on July 12 local time, the Central Command carried out a new round of offensive strikes against Iran, using precision-guided weapons to destroy dozens of targets at multiple locations, with the aim of weakening Iran’s ability to continue attacking international shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command used fighter aircraft, naval vessels, one-way attack drones, and for the first time, one-way attack unmanned boats put into operational use, to strike Iran’s military air defense systems, coastal radar stations, missile and drone combat capabilities, as well as small vessels. The Strait of Hormuz is a sea passage crucial to global trade, and Iran does not control the strait. Despite Iran’s continued baseless “aggression,” harassment, threats, and arbitrary statements, the U.S. military has made full deployments and preparations to ensure that merchant ships can continue to enjoy freedom of navigation.
