NVIDIA has decided to temporarily give up adopting TSMC’s COUPE technology方案.

Golden Finance News reports that, according to insiders, Nvidia has decided to temporarily give up adopting TSMC’s COUPE (compact general-purpose photonic engine) technology. The reason is that TSMC’s progress on silicon nitride (SiN) technology has been slow, and the development of the two-dimensional grating coupler has not met expectations.
Nvidia’s previous “Plan A” was based on a TSMC COUPE co-packaged optics platform, while the latest “Plan B” has shifted to Tower Semiconductor’s silicon photonics platform.
