When moving cross-border funds, the two things that keep people up at night are: first, having their card suddenly frozen; second, having the money trapped en route and unable to arrive. In the past, when using traditional bank cards, even just transferring a slightly larger amount or making several transactions in quick succession—once it hits tighter compliance controls, the account turns into an “ice block” in seconds. And not to mention those shady gray channels with unclear origins; you may save a few bucks at first, but in the end you might even lose the principal.
