Crypto Circle News: On the 12th local time, US President Trump said that the previous night the US carried out a “fierce strike” on Iran. In an interview that day, Trump said that the US and Iran had reached an agreement the day before, with Iran “originally prepared to give up everything,” but a few hours later, a vessel was attacked by a drone. The US military said that after a merchant ship was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, the US launched a new round of strikes on about 140 military targets in Iran. This was the third time the US had carried out strikes against Iran within a week. As for the navigation conditions in the Strait of Hormuz, views among the various parties differed. On the 12th, Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Administration issued an announcement on social media stating that the Strait of Hormuz is currently not passable. Trump, however, said, “For the United States, the Strait of Hormuz is still open.”

Trump said the strait is still open; Iran said it’s closed—so they’re playing Schrödinger’s shipping lane here.

Merchant ships were attacked → 140 targets; this retaliation ratio is a bit exaggerated
