A reporter confirmed with an insider close to Tencent that OpenAI’s former researcher Yonglong Tian will recently join Tencent as the new leader of the Hunyuan multimodal direction. Public information shows that Yonglong Tian earned his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and previously worked at the Google Research Institute, Google DeepMind, and OpenAI in succession, with extensive expertise in areas such as computer vision, representation learning, and generative models. Xiaojing note: Tencent Group’s current Chief AI Scientist Shunyu Yao also earned his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and was a former colleague of Yonglong Tian.
