A few days ago, I heard about a studio (aka a group) that specializes in “making” Thai identities for Chinese citizens being shut down. They mainly forged newborn birth registrations for Chinese families to fraudulently obtain Thai citizenship; or they helped “backgrounded” individuals get Thai visas and passports.

Thailand’s “uncle” authorities have started tracing via archival records and transfer information to investigate and arrest people.
The founder of the Jiubi exchange, which previously caused quite a stir across the city, is said to be involved as well. Today, the news seems to indicate that he was arrested (though not because of anything related to the exchange’s business).
It’s said that many crypto brothers and sisters also use this channel, so over the next few days, more reports of people being arrested will likely emerge. Because the scope is quite broad and it’s somewhat embarrassing, the Thai police’s enforcement has been a bit intense these days, and it’s likely they’ll bring out a lot of OG “scammers.”
On whether not staying in Bangkok matters 🤣
