The US military says the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz is still “open”

Golden Finance reported on July 12 that a communiqué released on July 12 by a U.S.-led Combined Maritime Information Center said that although Iran claimed the Strait of Hormuz had been closed, the southern route near the Oman side remained usable and was already open for two-way passage. The communiqué said that the current maritime security threat level for the Strait of Hormuz remains at “severe.” (Xinhua)
