World Mobile Stratospheric is the stratospheric technology initiative tied to $WMTX (World Mobile Token).
What is World Mobile Stratospheric?
World Mobile Stratospheric (WMS) is a joint venture between World Mobile Group and Protelindo (Indonesia’s leading digital infrastructure company). It develops high-altitude platform systems (HAPS) — specifically hydrogen-powered unmanned aircraft — to deliver direct-to-device 5G connectivity from the stratosphere (~60,000 ft / 20,000 m altitude).
Key product: StratoMast — a fixed-wing, hydrogen-fueled UAV platform.
Main specs and advantages:
• Altitude: ~60,000 ft (stratosphere)
• Coverage per platform: Up to 15,000 km² (roughly equivalent to 450–500 traditional ground cell towers)
• Direct-to-phone 5G/4G (no satellite dishes or special hardware needed)
• Low latency (fibre-grade, significantly better than LEO satellites)
• Endurance: Designed for multi-day flights (target ~7 days)
• Power: Hydrogen fuel cells (zero-emission, only water vapor)
• Core technology: Large proprietary phased-array antenna (over 3m square, ~120 kg, AI-driven beamforming with hundreds of beams)
• Cost: Claims ~9× cheaper per GB than LEO satellite solutions like Starlink for certain use cases
It acts as an aerial layer that complements World Mobile’s ground-based AirNodes (DePIN nodes) and routes traffic through EarthNodes, strengthening the overall decentralized network.
