Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra was interviewed on a FOX Business program on July 9.

He conveyed several well-worn but crucial points:
1⃣ Memory demand is at an unprecedented level, and memory is currently in a state of severe shortage. When the host pressed on when the shortage would end, Mehrotra refused to provide a specific timetable.
2⃣ Data centers have already accounted for more than 50% of total memory demand.
3⃣ Beyond data centers, demand also comes broadly from smartphones, computers, automobiles, industrial, defense, aerospace, and other fields.
4⃣ Advanced storage products consume more wafers, and as technology nodes advance, the increase in storage capacity output per wafer is declining; ramping up expansion for new factories takes 3-4 years.
