Oman proposes to set up two separate shipping lanes for the Strait of Hormuz

Golden Finance reports that, according to insiders, during negotiations with Iran, Oman proposed establishing two separate shipping lanes for the Strait of Hormuz. The southern lane passes through Oman’s territorial waters, and vessels can transit freely under the pre-war conditions; the northern lane crosses Iran’s territorial waters, and ships must obtain permission from Iran in advance for passage, but no tolls are required. The insider added that Oman and Iran are still negotiating the related agreement.
