Coin Circle Network reported that, according to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics is in the process of bringing forward the production start time of its first semiconductor factory in the Yongin chip cluster to 2029, one to two years earlier than originally planned. Industry officials said that bringing the first factory online early will enable Samsung to respond more quickly to the rapidly growing global demand for AI chips. In addition, last month Samsung said that, under its super project investment plan, it plans to invest 2,030 trillion won (about $1.35 trillion) in Pyeongtaek and the Yongin semiconductor cluster, and invest 400 trillion won to build two new chip factories in Gwangju.
