Crypto payment cards tested: Ether.fi has the lowest overall cost, while Plasma and Backpack rank second and third.
BlockBeats message, July 12: Crypto KOL Nikita disclosed that he conducted the same 9.69-euro spending test on six crypto payment cards in Europe: Ether.fi, Plasma, Backpack, Lava, Jup Mobile, and KAST. After factoring in the composite exchange rate, fees, and cashback, Ether.fi ranked first with an actual cost of $10.72, followed by Plasma with $10.93, and Backpack with $11.07 in third place.
The test showed that the actual spending costs among different crypto payment cards differed by about 5%, mainly determined by foreign-exchange spreads, fees, and the cashback mechanism. Ether.fi consistently delivered the best results thanks to a better exchange rate and on-chain cashback; Plasma, although its exchange rate lagged behind some newer products, relied on 3% cashback to stay second; KAST became the highest-cost product in the test for the second time in a row due to weaker exchange-rate performance and additional fees.
