According to Korean media reports, Samsung has moved up the start of operations at the first fab in its Yongin semiconductor cluster by two years.

Specifically, the target date for the first fab to begin operations has been set for October 2029 as part of Samsung Electronics’ accelerated development of the Yongin National Semiconductor Industrial Complex.
Samsung Electronics plans to build a total of six fabs at the Yongin complex. The first fab had originally been scheduled to begin operations in 2031.
