Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 12, according to Yonhap News Agency, industry insiders said on Sunday that Samsung Electronics is working to advance the production timeline of the first semiconductor factory in its Nongin semiconductor cluster to 2029, which is one to two years earlier than originally planned. “Bringing the first factory forward will enable Samsung to respond more quickly to rapidly growing global demand for AI chips,” an industry official said.

In addition, last month Samsung said that, under its super project investment plan, it plans to invest 2,030 trillion won (about $1.35 trillion) in Pyeongtaek and the Nongin semiconductor cluster, and to invest 400 trillion won to build two new chip factories in Gwangju, located 270 kilometers south of Seoul.
