Note: The RMB midpoint rate is obtained by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System, which, before the opening of the daily interbank FX market, collects quotations from all interbank FX market-making participants at major banks and uses all their quotes as calculation samples for the RMB–US dollar midpoint exchange rate. After removing the highest and lowest quotes, the weighted average of the remaining market maker quotes is used. The RMB midpoint exchange rate is the most important reference indicator for the spot interbank FX trading market and quoted bank exchange rates.
