A cargo ship was attacked near Oman; the US military says it struck Iran in retaliation

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office said in a report released on the night of the 11th that a container ship was attacked in waters near Oman the same day, with damage to its stern and a fire breaking out onboard. Also, according to a message from the U.S. Central Command on the 11th, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a container ship flying the flag of Cyprus that was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The attack resulted in one crew member going missing. The ship, suffering a fire onboard and severe damage to the engine room, has been unable to continue sailing. The report said that the U.S. launched its third round of military strikes against Iran in the evening, and this strike was in response to the attack incident. (Xinhua)
