According to a Biejie.com report, the U.S. Department of Defense said President Trump has ordered airstrikes on Iran on Saturday in response to an attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on a commercial vessel sailing through the Strait of Hormuz. The damaged M/V GFS Galaxy can no longer continue sailing due to a fire and severe damage in the engine room, and one crew member is missing. U.S. Central Command said that in response, the U.S. is imposing significant costs by continuously weakening Iran’s ability to attack civilian vessels. The Revolutionary Guard said the Strait of Hormuz has been closed and all vessel traffic will be prohibited. This airstrike is the third U.S. bombing of Iran this week in retaliation for attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
