Serenity: Capital in China's Primary Market Shifts to Physical AI and World Models, Funding Concentrates on Leading Models

On July 3, Serenity published a statement indicating that in the context of AI investment in China's primary market, institutional funds are flowing towards embodied intelligence, physical AI, and world models. They noted that the financing scale for large models/LLMs is approximately $23.56 billion, around $15.74 billion for AI infrastructure and technology, about $13.36 billion for embodied intelligence/physical AI, approximately $8.79 billion for AIGC applications, and around $3.82 billion for autonomous driving and other Top-20 clusters, although this last category is not entirely comparable to the aforementioned ones. Early-stage pure foundational model financing has largely closed, with more funds directed towards established leading companies and world model firms. They believe a similar trend may emerge in the U.S. market, with funds concentrating on leading companies like Anthropic and OpenAI, stating that 'world models have become the biggest consensus in early investments.' A few months ago, they suggested that 4D AI/world models would be the most noteworthy direction to watch, mentioning that AEVA might provide related exposure, but currently, there are no clear pure targets in the market, and we may need to wait for the next batch of IPOs in this field. Serenity indicated that AIGC applications are the most mature area for the commercialization of AI technology, but there is still no clear winner. Funds continue to flow into AI infrastructure and semiconductor supply chains, while significant capital is rotating into physical AI, embodied intelligence, humanoid robots, and world models, with the frontier model sector continuing to concentrate on leading companies.
