Both sides have a chance to win. Predict the score: 1:1 (90 minutes)
Judging by attacking strength, Norway clearly has the capital to pull off an upset. Haaland is in hot form in this tournament, and while England is overall stronger, they are not without vulnerabilities—so this match could very well end level within 90 minutes.
Norway’s biggest advantage is their extremely fast transitions. As long as they win the ball back, a couple of quick passes are enough to create a one-on-one chance. Haaland doesn’t need many opportunities; one successful sprint could be enough to change the course of the game.
England, on the other hand, is more mature. They won’t try to match Norway’s pace head-on, but will rely on midfield control to set the tempo. Bellingham can drive the whole team forward, while Kane drops back to link play; combined with the wingers’ constant runs, this will put sustained pressure on Norway’s back line.
In the first half, both sides are expected to hold something back, and it’s likely to finish 0:0. After halftime, as stamina drops, space on the pitch will gradually open up, and goal-scoring chances will increase noticeably.
Haaland is very likely to capitalize on a quick counterattack to score first, but England has strong resilience in adverse situations. Kane and Bellingham both have the ability to score the crucial goals and level the match.
With the enormous psychological pressure of the World Cup quarterfinal, the leading side often becomes more conservative, so in the final stages both teams will be more cautious and won’t take risks lightly.
If the match goes to extra time, the outcome will still be full of suspense, but within 90 minutes, a draw looks more likely.
