CryptoNews, according to Middle East Eye, reports that the United States is working with Iraq and Syria to advance a plan to renovate an old oil pipeline connecting Kirkuk in northern Iraq with Banias on Syria’s Mediterranean coast, enabling Iraq to export crude oil while bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. It is expected that, during Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zaidi’s meeting with Trump at the White House next week, an agreement regarding the restoration of this pipeline—about 800 kilometers long—will be announced. The pipeline has been shut down for decades, is seriously damaged, and may require full reconstruction; the project is expected to take two to three years. A group of U.S. companies has already been recruited to participate in the project.

From Kirkuk to Banyas, this line has been dormant for dozens of years and suddenly springs back to life, and the Middle East energy map is shifting.

800-kilometer old pipeline reconstruction, a 2- to 3-year construction period—an American company wins the contract. This business calculation is solid.
