Jinse Finance reported on July 11 that U.S. Democratic Party member of the federal House of Representatives Ro Khana said to Reuters on July 9 that, on his way to visit a Palestinian village in the West Bank that day, he was intercepted by Israeli settlers and detained for about an hour. He said that the settlers were carrying U.S.-made M4 rifles, blocked the road, and after detaining his party, mocked them. Ro Khana said he witnessed the arrogance of the Israeli settlers and Israeli military soldiers in their eyes—an arrogance stemming from power that has never been held accountable and is completely unrestrained; such power, he said, breeds a toxic culture of oppression.
