This short position finally came to fruition. $FIL started getting pressured from the higher levels. What I was watching wasn’t how far it could bounce, but whether, after the bounce, it would keep getting pushed back down.

What really caught my attention at the time was that the price repeatedly surged around 1.0505 but couldn’t hold. The order book looked oddly tangled—many people were still waiting for a breakout, but I felt something here was already off. High-volume trading at the top didn’t continue; the key levels kept being tested. In plain terms, the rhythm changed.

Now the price is at 0.7958, and this short has returned +1167.61% in profit. The market’s downside room was released pretty decisively. There was a relief bounce in the middle, but it didn’t change the structure— it only provided a more comfortable confirmation to hold the position.

On my side, I’ve already handled it in batches using an 80/20 approach: lock in most of the profit first, and keep the rest with a protective level to see how far it extends. Once the profit is realized, don’t get carried away—closing a short isn’t a reason to chase. If you didn’t catch it, don’t rush; don’t chase lower—wait for the next more comfortable position to act.
